Ted Baker Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore Changi airport is the first airport outside of the UK to feature a Ted Baker store. The store is a small space with limited stock area so whilst designing the fixtures we ensured that there was as much storage on the shopfloor as possible . Singapore still has strong colonial connections to the UK so when it came to developing a design concept we were spoilt for choice with ideas. We decided to develop the concept based on Gin and it's connection with the Singapore Sling cocktail and the Long Bar at Raffles hotel. We took materials, finishes and colours from the ingredients found in the cocktail and some of the colonial styling found in the interior of the Long Bar. Some of the fixtures have gin casks as bases and ceramic monkey nuts can be found alongside gin props. We also took inspiration from the butterfly garden found in the airport itself to steer the design of custom light fixtures and props. The backwall of the store features a custom wallpaper that was designed in house featuring juniper berries and english robins with tophats thus continuing the English connection.
