Ted Baker Neumünster
Neumünster was the first Ted Baker to be built in Germany, albeit in an outlet village. Following on from the success of other European Ted Baker outlet builds, such as the store we designed in Roermond, we were keen to make a good impression Neumünster has a long history in the textile industry with many cloth factories as well as factories producing carpets, leathers and other fibres. Using Neumünster’s textile history as inspiration, we developed a design concept for the store using materials and finishes incorporating woven aesthetics. When developing the fixtures for the store we used natural tones and details which gave the impression of weaving including a ceiling feature that “weaves” around the ceiling services, which were otherwise quite intrusive on the space. We also incorporated things like wooden tape measures and thread bobbins into tables and furniture where possible. Light fixtures and props nod to looms, textile equipment and materials. We chose wallpapers with a woven, natural feel to them including a bespoke wallpaper designed in house for the changing room area which alludes to british designers such as Heath Robinson.
