Ted Baker London St Pancras
St Pancras is the first train station location for Ted Baker and was soon followed by a London Bridge store given its huge success. The design development of the store was a long process due to the small size of the space and the limitations posed by the site and it’s listed/conservation status. The brickwork on the arches could not be fixed into so the challenge was to design freestanding fixtures that did not feel temporary and as found in neighbouring stores with the same limitations, whilst also satisfying the many security requirements of the station. As the first train station location for Ted Baker, we decided to use vintage train travel as the concept for the store coupled with premium materials and finishes that are home to St Pancras station. With nods to railway both subtle and literal including bespoke glazed bricks manufactured by the same manufacturer which provide tiles for the London underground and trim details based on the lines and junctions of St Pancras station. We were fortunate to be able to develop and trial new visual merchandising elements and digital shopping screens in the store which were vital due to the limited product space. This was a great opportunity to work with the future of retail stores, utilising in house digital technology which allows customers to shop entire ranges without the need for a large retail space.
